Chocolate Nation, the worlds largest Belgian chocolate museum 

Are you ready for the magical story of our national pride? 

Say Belgium, and chocolate immediately comes to mind. Belgian chocolate is world-famous. The love story between this small country and the sweet delight has been thriving for generations.

In 14 thematic rooms, we will take you on a 60 to 90 minutes journey and tell you the story of Belgian chocolate. The tour starts in the equator’s cocoa plantations and follows the cocoa bean to the world’s largest cocoa storage port in Antwerp. A gigantic fantasy machine demonstrates how chocolate is made and where the velvety smooth taste originates from. Along the way, visitors will discover why Belgian chocolate is world-famous. The people can visit the museum entirely C-proof, and audio guides are available in Dutch, French, English, German and Spanish

Chocolate Nation, the most prominent Belgian chocolate museum globally, is a place full of sensory experiences and stories from chocolate brands and chocolatiers. Chocolate traditions, history, products and innovations are all covered in this experience museum.

With 132,500 visitors in its first year, Chocolate Nation turns out to be a star attraction. Dive into the chocolate experience and enjoy the tour. With the 4000m2 museum, it is the largest Belgian Chocolate museum in the world.

53 different nationalities

In its first year of operations, Chocolate Nation welcomed 53 different nationalities. 32% of its visitors come from Belgium, and not surprisingly, 30% come from The Netherlands. The rest of the visitors come from all parts of the globe. Visitors come from New- Zeeland to Japan, from Peru to Australia. This museum is often seen as the reason for choosing Antwerp as a travel destination. The daily surveys taken at the museum indicate that a growing number of visitors travel to Antwerp specifically to visit Chocolate Nation. What is also remarkable is that the age categories are also very diverse besides the many different nationalities. The museum, like Belgian chocolate, appeals to everyone.

Visit the Bar / Restaurant Octave. It’s the only bean-to-bar restaurant in the world. Winner of the 2019 Gault & Millau Culinary Innovators Marketing Award.

Take some treats home from the Chocolate Nation shop with homemade products, various Belgian chocolate brands such as Godiva, Leonidas and Guylian and chocolate treats from well-known local chocolatiers.
